Meet Your New Neighbors
T.J. and Cassandra Mayer both love old
houses. When the couple was looking
for a new home last year, a friend told
them about a house for sale on Hillside
Drive.
"It was love at
first sight. We
put an offer in
right away,"
Cassandra said.
T.J. agreed.
After living in a
"cookie cutter"
development,
they both
appreciated the
unique architecture
and
quaintness of
Westerwood.
North Carolina natives, the couple met
as students at Western Carolina
University. Cassandra, who’s originally
from Sylva, agreed to move to
Greensboro, T.J.’s hometown. |

The Mayers and their now two-year-old
daughter, Gracie Elizabeth, made
402 Hillside their home in September
2002. |
He’s employed by Syngenta
as a research and development chemist, while Cassandra and her
business partner, Gail Buchanan-McGroarty, operate All Seasons
Travel and Expeditions. The company is a full service travel
agency with three specialties: honeymoons, expeditions, and
adventure trips.
All Seasons Travel and Expedition is
located at 2616-C Lawndale Drive,
right across from the Target shopping
center. Take a look at the insert in this
newsletter to see their specials,
especially for the holidays. What a great
way to escape the cold and ice!
Cassandra says that by focusing her business on certain areas,
she’s greatly increased her knowledge of the world and its many
travel opportunities. She remembers arranging a specialty adventure
for a man who wanted to stay at the world’s northern-most point.
"He flew to Barrow, Alaska, and stayed at the World Resort,"
she said.
Early next year, the Mayers will be
embarking on a wonderful adventure
of their own that won’t take them any
further than their Westerwood home.
In January, the three will
welcome a son and little brother into
this great big world.
Congratulations and welcome to the
neighborhood! | |
